The Dyson V15 Detect Absolute has an expensive price but it offers various advanced features that provide convenience and ease of use. Its main selling point is the green laser found in the soft roller cleaner head that illuminates microscopic dust that is hard to see on hard floors. This allows you to make sure that you get all the dirt even on dark areas. However, it doesn’t work well in rooms that have bright lights.

It supports three cleaning modes, which are the Eco, Medium/Auto, and Boost mode. The Eco mode uses the lowest suction power but also lasts longer, for about 60 minutes. The Medium mode, also called the Auto mode automatically increases its suction power on areas that need more suction. In this mode, the vacuum makes the decision on what suction mode to use so the battery life on the Auto mode depends on the type of dirt in your home. The Boost mode uses the highest suction power but you can only use this for 15 minutes and it has a louder noise level of up to 81 dB.

You can control the suction mode by pressing the button below the LCD display. The LCD display shows the remaining battery on each suction mode so you know how many minutes are left until the battery dies. It also shows the amount and type of dust that are sucked in, however, this information is not very useful in day-to-day cleaning. It only assures you that your vacuuming session is giving your floors a deep clean.

The Dyson V15 Detect Absolute comes with six cleaning attachments, which are the high torque cleaner head, soft roller cleaner head, anti-tangle screw tool, soft dusting brush, combination tool, and crevice tool. It has two main floor nozzles which are the high torque cleaner head and soft roller cleaner head.

The high torque cleaner head is great for carpets. It has an effective anti-hair tangle feature which is great for those who have furry pets in their home or those who have long hair. The soft roller cleaner head is great for hard floors. It is equipped with a green laser that illuminates dust particles that are hard to see.

If the battery life is not enough to clean your whole house and if you have money to spare, you might want to buy an extra battery. Unlike in the Dyson Outsize where an extra battery is already included in the box, the Dyson V15 Detect Absolute doesn’t come with an extra battery so you have to buy it separately. The battery in the Dyson V15 Detect Absolute is detachable so you can have more than one battery. You can charge the extra battery while cleaning so you can have a spare battery in case you needed more time to clean. This allows you to switch the drained battery to a fully charged one so you can continue with your cleaning uninterrupted.

Just like other Dyson cordless vacuums, the trigger switch needs to be pressed continuously while cleaning. Dyson says that it will optimize the battery life but it might be bothersome to continuously hold the trigger switch the entire time you are cleaning.
