+ Great value for money
+ The App is straightforward to use
+ Powerful suction
- Random navigation

I chose to buy this robot vacuum cleaner to my home, because of the favorable price and the good reviews of the product. I was looking for a simple model with basic functionality and with App-control.

Verdict

So far I have been very satisfied with the robot vacuum cleaner and I will recommend it to others with the same needs as me.
The App is very simple to use and has been very useful for me (Easy to Schedule and Start/Stop the robot).
The suction is powerful and I'm surprised how much dust the robot actually collects daily (even though I clean with my vacuum cleaner regularly).

Navigation

The robot's navigation is very random and I'm not sure if it around the whole area, but I guess it is what you can expect in this price range. The robot collects a lot of dust though and with a long runtime (100 minutes in standard-mode and 40 minutes in Power-mode) it has a lot of time to cover a large area.
My house has two floors and the robot is only used on the lower floor, where it covers a 7 m2-sized room and a 50-m2 sized room. For this purpose the robot’s navigation ability works are fine, but if I had had more rooms it would be more preferable with a robot vacuum cleaner with Mapping-functionality.

App-control

The EufyHome app is very simple and it is practical to be able to control the robot vacuum cleaner without being home. I would definitely recommend picking a robot vacuum cleaner with app-control if you have a Smartphone. With the technological development within robot vacuum cleaners, it’s no longer a feature only for the pricy models.

Because I can control the robot with the App, I’m not using the Remote control.

Attachment

I have not yet used the Remote control or the magnetic virtual wall.

Cleaning and maintenance

Eufy Robotvac 30C has a very good suction power (1500 Pa) and is good for collecting hair. The dustbin needs to be cleaned every other day in my case and I also remove the hairs from the site brushes. It takes 2 minutes to remove the hair and is very easy with the included cleaning tool.

Pros

Can be controlled through the app, voice control, and remote control
Supports various cleaning modes and suction power
Inclusive of magnetic strips
Low profile
Automatically increases suction on carpet

Cons

No mapping capability
No methodical cleaning pattern
Doesn’t support virtual boundaries

Who should buy Eufy RoboVac 30C

  • If you have carpets in your home, you should take advantage of the BoostIQ feature of the RoboVac 30C. It can automatically increase suction when detecting carpets to provide a deeper cleaning.
  • If you are on a tight budget, the RoboVac 30C is a good choice because it has well-balanced affordability and functionality that beats other competitors within its price range.
  • It has a low profile which is perfect if you have low lying furniture or other hard-to-reach areas because, with its 7.23 cm height, it can easily go into such areas.

Who should NOT buy Eufy RoboVac 30C

  • If you are looking for a robot vacuum with a systematic cleaning pattern, you might want to search for other robot vacuums with a mapping capability.
  • If you have a high-piled carpet, the RoboVac 30C might not exceed your expectation because it might get stuck and doesn’t have enough suction power to vacuum a high-piled carpet thoroughly.

This is our verdict of the Eufy RoboVac 30C based on several hours of research of reviews from both experts and users.
Updated 04-04-2021

The Eufy RoboVac 30C vacuums well and supports a lot of features at an attractively low price. Like other robot vacuums at this price range, there are some limitations, such as a basic navigation system. But if you are on a tight budget and are looking for a robust robot vacuum, the RoboVac 30C is a solid choice.

You can control the RoboVac 30C through the companion app, voice control Alexa and Google Assistant support, and remote control. The app offers a lot of options, so it is best if you take advantage of its various features to level up your vacuum experience. The remote control can come in handy if you have family members who don’t have the app. The voice control can only support basic commands, but it can help you maximize your time.

In the app, you can adjust the suction power and the cleaning mode. There are three power modes: Standard, BoostIQ, and Max. The BoostIQ is ideal to use if you have carpets because it automatically increases its suction power in areas that need it the most. This feature will allow the robot vacuum to maximize its battery life since higher suction power equates to higher battery consumption. The standard mode has a bearable noise, and the max mode has a louder noise level.

You can either use the app or remote control to adjust the cleaning mode of the RoboVac 30C. It has four cleaning modes which are the Auto, Edge, Spot, and Quick cleaning mode. The auto mode enables the robot vacuum to randomly navigate the room until its battery runs low. This mode might or might not clean the entire room, but if you live in a small house or an apartment, the RoboVac 30C can manage to clean the whole area.

The Edge cleaning mode finds the nearest wall and cleans the edges of your home. The spot cleaning mode is helpful if you, for instance, dropped something that needs to be cleaned since it cleans a specific area only. The quick cleaning mode lasts 30 seconds and is designed for a single room.

There is a magnetic strip included in the box that serves as a barrier. It will block off areas that you don’t want the RoboVac 30C to go, such as areas where there are many cables or pet areas where the water bowls are placed.

The RoboVac 30C has a low profile, unlike other expensive robot vacuums that have a laser turret. With the help of its 7.23 cm height, it can easily go under furniture such as sofa, bed, or other hard-to-reach areas. The RoboVac 30C can clean areas that are often not given attention but has a lot of dirt. It can also easily climb a threshold that has a height of 1.6 cm.

The downside of a budget robot vacuum is that it only has a basic navigation system which means it doesn’t have virtual boundaries or a systematic cleaning pattern. It doesn’t have a mapping capability that helps the robot vacuum identify which areas are already cleaned and not yet. The mapping feature enables the robot vacuum to clean faster and thoroughly. The RoboVac 30C can also clean thoroughly, but it needs a lot of time to cover the whole room.

Overall, the RoboVac 30C is an excellent choice for those who are new to robot vacuums. You can start with the RoboVac 30C and experiment whether robot vacuums are for you since it has a low price and offers various features. It is great to use for day-to-day cleaning and is worth the price.
