Who should buy iRobot Roomba Combo

  • If you are looking for a cheap iRobot robot vacuum, the iRobot Roomba Combo might be the one you are looking for because it is one of the cheapest robot vacuums they offer.
  • If you want a robot vacuum that can also function as a mop, the iRobot Roomba Combo is suitable for you because it is a hybrid robot vacuum and mop.
  • If you have a baby or pets in your home that you don’t want to disturb, the iRobot Roomba Combo might suit you well because it produces a low noise level of up to 58dB. The noise level it produces doesn’t interrupt conversations and is not disturbing.
  • If you have low-lying furniture, you might appreciate the low height of the iRobot Roomba Combo because it can easily clean under furniture such as the bed, sofa, or cabinet without getting stuck.

Who should NOT buy iRobot Roomba Combo

  • If you prefer robot vacuums that are equipped with a smarter navigation system that navigates thoroughly without leaving a spot uncleaned, the iRobot Roomba Combo might not be for you. Instead, you might want to look for the Roborock S7 that is equipped with a LiDAR navigation system or the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 920 that has a laser navigation system.
  • If you have areas that you want to block off, you might appreciate robot vacuums with virtual boundaries so that you won’t have to cover restricted areas with physical boundaries. You might want to look for the Proscenic M7 PRO or the Xiaomi Roborock S5 Max that are more expensive but support virtual boundaries.
  • If you don’t have a stable internet connection or if you have a hard time connecting a robot vacuum to its designated app, you might want to look for robot vacuums that come with remote control. The Roborock E4 and the Eufy RoboVac 11s might suit you better because they are equipped with remote control.

This is our verdict of the iRobot Roomba Combo based on several hours of research of reviews from both experts and users.
Updated 05-09-2021

Most iRobot Roombas have a high price but the iRobot Roomba Combo is more affordable. So if you want an iRobot Roomba but don’t have enough money, the iRobot Roomba Combo might be an excellent choice for you.

The word "Combo" in the iRobot Roomba Combo means that it is a combination of vacuum and mop. It can vacuum and sweep at the same time which results in efficient cleaning. The mopping function is equipped with an electronically controlled pump which means it can produce the same dampness throughout the room and prevent water leaks. However, like most robot vacuums, it cannot thoroughly clean tough stains because robot vacuums cannot exert pressure on the floor. The mopping function of the iRobot Roomba Combo is great if you want to maintain your floors shiny and clean.

You don’t have to worry about refilling the water tank of the iRobot Roomba Combo while it is cleaning because it doesn’t have a small water tank. The water tank has a capacity of 0,3 L compared to other slightly more expensive robot vacuums, such as the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 920 with a 0,24 L water tank and the Roborock S6 Pure with a 0,18 L water tank.

An advantage of not having a smart navigation system is that it is cheaper and has a lower height since it doesn’t have a laser turret on top. Having a lower height means that the iRobot Roomba Combo can clean under the bed, sofa, or cabinet where most dirt accumulates.

However, it doesn’t give you an assurance that it can thoroughly clean your room. The iRobot Roomba Combo might clean an area more than once and completely ignore other areas. It also bumps into chair legs frequently since it doesn’t detect them as an obstacle. But if you live in a small house or an apartment, the iRobot Roomba Combo can thoroughly clean your home.

You can control the iRobot Roomba Combo through its designated app and voice integration (Alexa and Google Assistant). You can also manually control it by pressing the button on top of the robot vacuum itself if you are having problems with connecting it to the internet. But it is only limited to starting and stopping the robot vacuum so if you want more control over the robot vacuum, it is better to connect it to the app.

Overall, the iRobot Roomba Combo is great for those who are on a tight budget and live in a small house or apartment. It might lack a lot of features compared to other high-end iRobot Roombas but you get what you pay for.

My experience
Might be OK! for small flat, but not for area that is above 50m2. The battery capacity is not enough for larger spaces, which is somehow strange. It is not stated in the specification what area may be cleaned with one complete charge.
