Who should buy Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision

  • If you have family members who don’t know how to navigate the app, such as the elderly, the remote control of the Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision is helpful because it is easier to use and allows them to control the robot vacuum even if you are not home.
  • If you have low-lying furniture, such as a sofa, bed, or cabinet, you might appreciate the low height of the Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision that can easily clean under furniture and other hard-to-reach areas without getting stuck.
  • If you have many small objects that are scattered in your room, the Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision can efficiently avoid the obstacles, it won’t get stuck and won’t push light objects.

Who should NOT buy Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision

  • If you are on a tight budget, the Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision might not be an excellent option because it has an expensive price. Instead, you might want to look for other cheaper robot vacuums, such as the Dreame D9 and the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 920.
  • If you live in a large house, it might be better to look for other robot vacuums with longer battery life. Since the Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision is expensive, it should have a longer battery life like the Roborock S6 Pure that has a 180-minute battery life and is cheaper or the Ultenic T10 with 280 minutes battery life.
  • If you have multiple floor levels, you might want to check other robot vacuums that can save multiple maps so you will no longer need to buy a robot vacuum for every floor level. The Dreame Z10 Pro can save up to three maps and the Roborock S6 MaxV can save four maps.

This is our verdict of the Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision based on several hours of research of reviews from both experts and users.
Updated 02-11-2021

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision has a distinct design compared to other robot vacuums. Unlike other robot vacuums, such as the Dreame D9 and the Roborock S6 Pure that have the same design, a circular shape, and a turret on top, the Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision’s structure is not the same and is equipped with two front cameras that serve as the eyes of the robot vacuum. The design of the side brushes is also not seen on other robot vacuums because the Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision’s side brushes have two layers where the upper brush is shorter than the lower brush so that it can clean corners better. The side brushes also don’t scatter light debris.

The two front cameras allow the Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision to create an accurate map in the app and to systematically navigate your house. It can clean every area in your room without getting lost or getting stuck. However, unlike the Roborock S6 MaxV that can save four maps, the Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision can only save one map so it is a disadvantage for those who live in a house with multiple floor levels.

Another purpose of the two front cameras is that you can watch in real-time what the robot vacuum sees. So it can also serve as a mini security camera. You can only watch it live because it doesn’t save the video so you cannot watch what happened earlier. This is helpful if you are often outside the house because you can still monitor what is happening in your home. For instance, you can check if you locked the door and you can also check what your pet is doing inside your house.

It has efficient obstacle avoidance where it will avoid small objects. This feature is great because it will not push small and light objects that are on the floor, such as socks and small toys. It also comes with a magnetic strip so you can block off areas that you don’t want the robot vacuum to go to, such as areas with a lot of cables.

You can control the Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision through the app, remote control, and voice control. It also has a digital display on top of the robot vacuum where it shows the remaining cleaning time. The app offers a variety of options so if you want to maximize your cleaning experience, you might want to download the designated app. You can see the created map, the live monitor, and other features in the app. The remote control is great if you have family members that don’t know how to navigate the app. The remote control is a lot easier to understand and use. You can also use voice integrations, such as Amazon Alexa.

Overall, the Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision is expensive but is worth the price because it can clean your home and can also serve as your eyes while you are away because of its live home monitoring feature. Its vacuuming ability is also great to use for everyday cleaning.
