Who should buy Proscenic M8 PRO

  • If you have asthma or dust allergies, the auto-empty bin of the Proscenic M8 Pro is perfect for you since it limits your exposure to dust.
  • If you are looking for a robot vacuum that can mop tough stains on the floor, the Proscenic M8 Pro might be the one you are looking for. Unlike other hybrid robot vacuums that just drag a damp cloth over the floor, the M8 Pro follows a Y-shaped mopping pattern that can easily remove stains on the floor.
  • If you have a lot of furniture or if you live in a messy home, the Proscenic M8 Pro might come in handy because it can avoid obstacles really well and can clean around the legs of the table or chair seamlessly; thanks to its LIDAR navigation system.
  • If you have family members in your home who don’t prefer using an app like the elderly or children, the Proscenic M8 Pro might be suitable for you because it has three control methods: an app, remote control, and voice control. The remote control is very convenient so that other family members can still use the robot vacuum while you are away.
  • If you have furry pets in your home, the Proscenic M8 Pro might be a great help for you because it has a strong suction power of up to 3000Pa that can thoroughly clean from fine to large debris.

Who should NOT buy Proscenic M8 PRO

  • If you are new to robot vacuums, the advanced features of the Proscenic M8 Pro might overwhelm you, so it might be better if you start with budget robot vacuums such as the Eufy RoboVac 11S MAX to determine whether robot vacuums are for you. The Eufy RoboVac 11S MAX is more user-friendly since it lacks some advanced features that make the robot vacuum complicated to use or understand.
  • If you are on a tight budget, the Proscenic M8 Pro might not be for you since it is more of a high-end robot vacuum. The Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Mop Pro is a cheaper alternative that also follows a Y-shaped mopping pattern and has a smart navigation system.
  • If you are looking for a robot vacuum that can run at a low noise level, the Proscenic M8 Pro might disappoint you since it produces loud noises that might interrupt conversations.

This is our verdict of the Proscenic M8 PRO based on several hours of research of reviews from both experts and users.
Updated 12-05-2021

The Proscenic M8 Pro is one of the high-end robot vacuums since it has a lot of advanced features to offer. It has an auto-empty bin, a mopping option that can remove tough stains, a strong suction power, and three control methods (app, remote control, voice control). But of course, these features come with a high price, and the robot is not exempted from flaws.

It has one of the highest suction power of up to 3000Pa, which is higher than the Proscenic M7 PRO with a 2700Pa. This suction power can clean various dirt from fine to large debris. It also has a carpet boost that can automatically increase its suction when detecting carpets since this floor type requires higher suction power. However, it also produces a loud noise when cleaning, which can interrupt conversations. When it automatically empties the dust bin, it also creates an extremely loud noise for a few seconds, which is common in auto-empty dust bins.

The Proscenic M8 Pro has a relatively small dust bin which is only 280ml. This might be because it utilizes a 2-in-1 container consisting of the water tank and dust bin, wherein the dust bin gave space for the 300ml water tank. However, this is a minor problem since the Proscenic M8 Pro has an auto-emptying bin that can hold a month worth of dirt depending on usage. So, you won’t have to worry about emptying the dust bin frequently.

Utilizing the Y-shape mopping pattern allows the Proscenic M8 Pro to make three passes at a single spot which is more effective in removing tough stains on the floor than other robots that don’t go back and forth when mopping.

The Proscenic M8 Pro uses an advanced IPNAS 4.0 technology for navigation. It is a more advanced LIDAR navigation than the IPNAS 3.0 technology of the Proscenic M7 PRO. It can avoid obstacles seamlessly and clean around chair legs or table legs easily, which most robot vacuums have problems with.

Since it has an advanced navigation system, it can produce an accurate map in the app wherein you can set no-go zones, no-mop zones, or select areas where the robot vacuum will clean. However, several users experience difficulties in saving the map created by the robot and encounter problems with connecting the robot vacuum to the internet. This might be because the app is not intuitive and doesn’t provide adequate instructions, so users who are new to robot vacuums might have difficulty understanding the controls or setting up the robot vacuum.

Overall, the Proscenic M8 Pro is worth its price since it has a lot of advanced features and can vacuum and mop efficiently.
