Who should buy Roborock S6 Pure

  • The Xiaomi Roborock S6 Pure is made for those who are impressed with the S6 but are on a tight budget. It is a cheaper alternative to the impressive Roborock S6, with a slight downgrade.
  • It is suitable for those who have multi-level homes because it can save up to four maps and also has a long battery life.
  • With its powerful suction and auto-increase suction on carpets, this robot vacuum is perfect for those who have kids and furry pets in their home.
  • If you have a messy or high-traffic room, this robot vacuum can deliver an efficient cleaning performance. It is equipped with a smart navigation and adaptive route algorithm that helps it navigate the room thoroughly which is why it rarely gets stuck.

Who should NOT buy Roborock S6 Pure

  • If you are looking for a robot vacuum solely for its mopping feature, you might want to consider other products because the Roborock S6 Pure depends on the gravity tank to keep the pad damp. It also cannot clean tough stains on the floor.
  • This robot vacuum can take up to 4-5 hours to charge. If you don't have the patience to wait that long, you might want to consider the Roborock S6 that can charge within 3-4 hours only.

This is our verdict of the Roborock S6 Pure based on several hours of research of reviews from both experts and users.
Updated 18-02-2021

The Xiaomi Roborock S6 Pure is a cheaper alternative to the Roborock S6 with a slight downgrade. It is a balance of high-end functionality while remaining affordable for those with a tighter budget.

You can use the robot as a vacuum or mop and it does its job well on both. It offers four cleaning modes (silent, balanced, turbo, and max) that allows the user to choose from a variety of options. It has a strong suction power of up to 2000 Pa, which is the same as the S4 and S6.

Its water tank can hold up to 180ml which is larger than the 140ml water tank of S6. Thus it can mop a wider coverage, but because it uses a gravity tank, it just relies on gravity to keep the mop damp. Unlike other robot vacuums that use electronic water tanks, the S6 Pure might empty its water tank faster because of the continuous dripping of water. It also does not have the no-mop zone feature of S6 which is helpful for those who have carpeted areas. Nevertheless, it is not that much of a big deal because you can still use the no-go zone or the virtual wall to block off carpeted areas.

Another difference between the S6 and the S6 Pure is in their dust bins. The S6 Pure has a lightly smaller dust bin compared to the S6 because it allows for more space for the water tank. Additionally, the S6 Pure is a bit noisier than the S6 although the noise level is bearable.

The S6 Pure utilises an adaptive route algorithm where it analyses the room's shape and present obstacles before identifying which route or approach is better, so it can save time and lessen the chances of getting suck. The more you use the robot vacuum, the more it learns and understands what the best route is and what approach to take. It also uses LiDAR, which helps the robot vacuum to navigate thoroughly and precisely. In terms of navigation, you won't be disappointed with Roborock.

Its smart navigation allows the app to show an accurate map of your floor plan, thus allowing a customisable map where you can set virtual no-go zones and virtual walls that block off areas you don't want the robot vacuum to go. You can also set custom cleaning or selective room cleaning, a feature that allows you to select rooms or areas that you want to be cleaned.

If you are content with having a longer charging time, a smaller dust bin, and a slightly noisier robot vacuum than the Roborock S6 that yet provides all the great features that the S6 offers, then you might as well consider the S6 Pure which you can get at a cheaper price.

Roborock S6 Pure vs. Roborock S6

Pros

Less expensive
Can clean a wider coverage (250 m2 vs. 200 m2)
Larger water tank (180 ml vs. 148 ml)

Cons

Higher noise level (69 dB vs. 67 dB)
Smaller dust bin (460 ml vs. 480 ml)
Lesser sensors (11 sensors vs. 14 sensors)
Doesn’t support no-mop zone feature
Doesn’t utilize an electric water pump

The S6 and the S6 Pure operate almost similarly and don’t have many significant differences. To put it simply, the S6 Pure is a cheaper alternative to the S6 that is why it sacrificed some features such as the no-mop zone feature and some sensors while still retaining its quality cleaning performance that the S6 offers.

Roborock S6 Pure vs. Roborock S6 MaxV

Pros

Less expensive

Cons

Doesn’t support ReactiveAI for obstacle recognition
Lower suction power (2000 Pa vs. 2500 Pa)
Doesn’t support no-mop zone feature
Doesn’t utilize an electric water pump
Smaller water tank (180 ml vs. 300 ml)
Higher noise level (69 dB vs. 67 dB)

If you prefer a more advanced robot vacuum in the S6 series of Roborock, you might want to check the Roborock S6 MaxV that is on the higher end of the S6 series which utilizes an AI for object detection. However, if you are more on the budget side, the Roborock S6 Pure might suit your interest better.

Roborock S6 Pure vs. Roborock S5 Max

Pros

Less expensive

Cons

Smaller water tank (180 ml vs. 290 ml)
Doesn’t support no-mop zone feature
Doesn’t utilize an electric water pump

Both the S6 Pure and the S5 Max have a lot of similar features such as battery life, suction power, noise level, and dust bin capacity. However, the S5 Max has more advantages in terms of the mopping function meanwhile, the S6 Pure is more affordable.
