The Shark CH950UKT is a suitable option for pet owners due to its effective pet hair removal capabilities and good overall cleaning results. It comes with three cleaning attachments, providing versatility in tackling different cleaning tasks. However, it has a few drawbacks to consider. Firstly, it may feel a bit heavy during use, which could impact maneuverability. Additionally, the vacuum has a relatively short runtime of only 10 minutes, which may be limiting for larger cleaning sessions. Lastly, it is worth noting that the Shark CH950UKT can be somewhat noisy during operation. Overall, if you prioritize pet hair removal and effective cleaning, and are willing to tolerate the limitations of weight, runtime, and noise, the Shark CH950UKT could be a suitable choice.

Who is the Shark CH950UKT suitable for
The Shark CH950UKT is a popular handheld vacuum cleaner, suitable for households with pet hair. It comes with a motorized cleaning brush which is good at picking up animal hair. However, if you don’t have pets you can get more for your money by choosing a model that does not have this accessory, such as the Bosch Move BHN14N.
Who is the Shark CH950UKT not suitable for
The vacuum cleaner feels a bit heavy (it weighs 1.2 kg with the motorized brush attached). If you don't have that much strength in your arm, you should consider choosing a lighter hand vacuum cleaner, such as the Shark WV200UK.
You should be aware that the operating time is only 10 minutes, so if you need to carry out larger cleaning tasks, you should consider a handheld vacuum cleaner with a longer operating time or with a replaceable battery, such as the Shark WV251UK with a runtime up to 16 minutes, or the Bissell 2278N Pet Hair Eraser which has a runtime up to 18 minutes.
Battery
The Shark CH950UKT is built with a 10.8 volt lithium battery. In general, lithium batteries have a longer life span compared to NiMH batteries.
The battery has a runtime of 10 minutes, which is decent. However, there are many options available with a longer runtime, such as the Shark WV270UK which has a runtime of 15 minutes, and the Bissell 2278N Pet Hair Eraser with a runtime of 18 minutes.
A 10-minute cleaning time is suitable for small cleaning tasks, however be aware the charge time might be shorter if you use the motorized brush. The battery has a charge time of 4-5 hours, which is faster than many other handheld vacuum cleaners. In general lithium batteries charge faster than NiMH batteries.
The battery of Shark CH950UKT is not interchangeable.
Cleaning
We test the cleaning ability of all handheld vacuum cleaners we review. We perform three tests on each handheld vacuum cleaners:
Parquet floor test: We test the vacuum cleaner’s ability to pick up 50 grams of sand from a parquet floor in 10 seconds.
Carpet test: We test the vacuum cleaner’s ability to pick up 50 grams of sand from a carpet in 10 seconds.
Pet hair removal test: We test the vacuum cleaner’s ability to pick up dog hair from carpet.
The test for the Shark CH950UKT went as follows:
Parquet floor test result: In this test the vacuum cleaner managed to pick up all of the sand. We have yet to test a handheld vacuum that hasn't managed this.
Carpet test result: The vacuum cleaner did a very good job in this test and managed to pick up 40 grams of the sand (80%). It is one of the best results among the handheld vacuum cleaners we have tested. The Bissell 1987N Pet Hair Eraser did a bit better, picking up 84% of the sand.
Pet hair removal test result: The vacuum cleaner did an almost perfect job in this test. The test shows that the vacuum cleaner is suitable for removing stubborn hair from carpets.
Overall, the vacuum cleaner did a very good job in the cleaning tests. The suction power of the vacuum cleaner also feels powerful.

The handheld vacuum cleaner has one button near the handle, which is for turning power on and off, and it only has one speed setting.

The filter is washable and the vacuum cleaner is not suited for picking up liquids.
Comfort
The vacuum cleaner has a light indicator, which shows when the battery is low and that blinks when it is charging.
The vacuum cleaner has a dustbin capacity of 0.45 liters, which is large and means it doesn't need to be emptied that often.
We measured the weight of the Shark CH950UKT to 1008 grams without attachments, and goes up to 1216 grams with the motorized brush attached. The vacuum cleaner feels a bit heavy in the hands, compared to other models we have tested, such as the Shark WV200UK and the Bosch Move BHN14N.

Dimensions
The vacuum cleaner measures:
Height: 10.85 cm
Width: 9.52 cm
Depth: 52.0 cm
The vacuum cleaner is a bit longer than other models which also makes it feel a bit heavier too.
