This is our verdict of the Shark ICZ160UK based on several hours of research of reviews from both experts and users.
The Shark ICZ160UK has a unique and bulky look compared to other cordless vacuums, such as the Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute that have their dust container just below the handle.
The dust container of the Shark ICZ160UK is detachable so you can carry it on one hand and the long hose on the other hand. This feature is called “Get-Anywhere” which you can also see in the Shark ICZ260UK. You can reach any area you want without using much effort and energy because you’re only lifting the hose which is lighter than having to lift the whole cordless vacuum with the heavy dust container. Despite it being heavy as it weighs 5.5kg, it lightens the load because you can carry the central unit to where you want it, leaving you with just the long hose to hold. However, the downside is that both your hands will be occupied unlike in the Shark IZ251UK and the Philips XC7042/01 where you only use one hand and the other hand is free.
The dust container and battery slot are positioned at the bottom, which allows the Shark ICZ160UK to stand up by itself. This is great because you can quickly leave the cordless vacuum in its place and you also won’t worry about where you will store it.
Another great feature of the Shark ICZ160UK is its DuoClean floor head. It is equipped with two roller heads which are the soft roller head and motorized brush on one cleaning attachment. The soft roller head is excellent for hard floors and the motorized brush can deeply clean carpets. Therefore, the Shark ICZ160UK can efficiently clean any floor type without having to regularly switch cleaning attachments. It is also equipped with an anti-hair system which is great for those who have long hair or those who have furry pets.
Other than the DuoClean floor head, it also comes with an upholstery tool, crevice tool, brush, and mini motorized tool. The mini motorized tool is great to use for cleaning pet hair from the sofa, bed, or car seats. However, the Shark ICZ160UK doesn’t have tool storage in the cordless vacuum so you have to hold the cleaning attachment that you are using.
The Shark ICZ160UK only comes with one detachable battery that can only last for 50 minutes. This battery life is enough if you live in a small house but if you live in a large house with a lot of areas to clean, you might want to buy an extra battery so you can replace the drained battery with a fully charged one for uninterrupted cleaning.
It is equipped with LED headlights in front of the cleaning nozzle so that you can check if you vacuumed all the dirt even in dark areas. It also has small wheels which help in moving the cordless vacuum around. The minor inconvenience is that it doesn’t give you the option to turn off the LED headlights once you already turned the vacuum on.
Overall, the Shark ICZ160UK might have an expensive price but it is worth it because it cleans efficiently on any floor type, can detach from its dust container, and has an anti-hair tangle system that works well.
